THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re seeking a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team delivering advanced, real-time software solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design and develop embedded software solutions for real-time systems
* Deliver robust, fully tested, and maintainable code aligned with project objectives
* Debug, test, and optimise software for performance in embedded environments
* Ensure adherence to governance policies, secure coding standards, and design review processes
* Collaborate with engineering leadership and provide regular progress updates
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Strong experience working in embedded Linux environments (driver modification desirable, ideally PetaLinux)
* Proven experience developing in C++ for embedded systems, including working with and maintaining existing codebases
* Experience capturing and managing software requirements (ideally using DOORS)
* Experience designing and architecting complex embedded software systems
* Solid understanding of UML and system modelling
* Strong documentation and communication skills (Microsoft Office)
DESIRABLE SKILLS
* Familiarity with static analysis and code quality tools (e.g. Coverity)
* Understanding of secure coding practices in C++
* Experience with Git/Bitbucket for version control and configuration management
