ABOUT THE ROLE A Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising a dedicated sub-department within a production unit (and a small number of Production Assistants working within it), ensuring that they and their colleagues carry out their designated production duties to the highest possible standards. In this case, they will be the supervisor of two Production Assistants (one full-time and one part-time) who are collectively responsible for receiving baked goods (cakes, biscuits, puddings, confectionary and more) from our team of Pastry Chefs, and packaging and labelling them according to the company specifications. These products will then be dispatched in full to our many Retail, Wholesale and Restaurant/Cafe customers for sale SALARY: 13.95 per hour HOURS: 45 Hours / Monday to Friday 6am start times with rotational weekend shifts RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the packaging of all Patisserie products as per company specifications Ensure that all packing and dispatch duties are completed in a timely and professional manner Adhere to the organic standards set out by the Soil Association Contribute to the award-winning standard of all Daylesford Organic products Ensure that all packaging materials are always available in sufficient quantities (through careful stock-management) and ready for production Supervise the team in ensuring that all packaging duties are carried out with care and diligence to guarantee the production of a consistently high standard, and legally compliant, product Ensure that Production Assistant colleagues are following the correct due diligence and traceability procedures Ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently within the timeframe given Work safely and efficiently to ensure that all daily orders are completed at the required fulfilment rate Minimise wastage levels as much as possible Comply with the production unit's internal and external audit requirements Aid the Head Pastry Chef in the fulfilment of the production unit's annual financial/budgetary targets Complete all mandatory training courses within the required timeframe Assist in the development and motivation of the Production team Act as a strong Daylesford Organic ambassador, representing a strong example of dedication, collaboration and hard work Work to develop Production Assistants into the Production Supervisors of the future Bring our purpose to life by driving meaningful social and environmental improvements, contributing to our journey as a B Corp, and aligning with our sustainability vision.
