Programme Leader / Senior Lecturer – Computing Foundation Degree
Arden University is recruiting a Programme Leader / Senior Lecturer for the newly launched FdSc Computing and Digital Futures Foundation Degree in February 2026.
Location and Working Arrangement
Hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days campus travel each week. Preferably based in London (Stratford, Holborn, Ealing) with readiness to travel once a week to other launch sites – Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle – as the programme expands.
Overview
Lead, develop and manage the programme, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences and excellent student outcomes. Oversee curriculum design, quality management, enhancement, and accreditation processes while handling operational administration and line‑managing a team of lecturers.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver modules on skills for study and work, digital skills, problem solving, programming, web and database technologies, digital business transformation, business intelligence, and user‑centred design.
* Develop and review curriculum in line with professional standards and institutional policy.
* Manage operational administration, student support, assessment and quality assurance, and accreditation process.
* Line‑manage a team of lecturers, providing mentorship and performance support.
* Champion work‑based learning and industry engagement across the degree.
* Lead initiatives to improve student progression, retention and outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Extensive experience working with Foundation Degree students and programmes in computing or relevant industry.
* Deep understanding of Foundation Degrees, work‑based learning, and accreditation requirements.
* Demonstrated ability in operationalising strategies to improve student progression and retention.
* Experienced in managing academic teams, with strong people‑management and interpersonal skills.
* Approachable, adaptable, flexible, calm under pressure, and able to manage ambiguity and change in a fast‑paced environment.
Benefits
* Salary: £48,813 – £59,660 (plus £4,000 London weighting where applicable).
* Hours per week: 37.
* Full‑time permanent employment.
