About The Role
As a lead project manager, you’ll be working in a function delivering critical upgrades to National Electrical Infrastructure.
You will take direct responsibility and be accountable for the delivery of several complex multi-discipline design and build projects, supporting a team of project managers and engineers. You will coordinate activities across planning, engineering, procurement, quality, and commercial teams, ensuring all requirements are understood and translated into actionable plans, and oversee their implementation.

Key Responsibilities
1. Manage key critical projects for the Engineering Solutions business unit, ensuring contractual obligations are met on time and within budget.
2. Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary project team to deliver project objectives efficiently.
3. Manage commercial, technical, and quality issues on projects.
4. Create, maintain, and drive progress against project programs.
5. Ensure timely completion of project commercial obligations, including extensions of time, contract extras, and claims.
6. Ensure compliance with BGEN processes and procedures.
7. Conduct project reviews to monitor progress, control costs, identify deviations, and manage risks, including change management.
8. Prepare estimates with high quality and engineering standards, liaising with internal and external stakeholders for quotations and tendering.
9. Participate in design development and review meetings.
10. Contribute to profitable performance and financial control of contracts.
11. Attend and contribute to meetings with clients, including kick-offs, site visits, and reviews.
12. Provide regular plans and reports to clients and senior management.
13. Maintain positive client relationships and monitor collaboration software.
14. Ensure safety, health, environment, and quality standards are met.
15. Administer contracts and assist with forecasting labor and managing costs.
16. Procure materials and manage subcontractors.
17. Supervise design integration across disciplines and manage engineering teams for project success.
Essential Skills
* Experience estimating packages of work to high standards within power and energy sectors.
* Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* Knowledge of commercial practices and contract law.
* Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
* Ability to manage projects in High Voltage (HV) substation environments.
* Willingness to travel within the UK; full driving license required.
* Knowledge of Project Management practices and NEC 4 Contracts.
* Experience with planning software and project lifecycle management.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of HSE, QA, CDM, Primavera P6, design processes, and HV transmission.

Required Experience
* Project management, planning, budgeting, construction site management, and experience in the power and energy sector.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in engineering or project management.
* Electrical/electronic engineering qualifications (HNC, ONC, City & Guilds).
* NEC 4 Project Management Accreditation.
