Children’s Support Worker
Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of women and children escaping domestic abuse? We are looking for a Children’s Support Worker to join a specialist service supporting survivors of gender-based violence. This is an opportunity to help create safe, supportive environments where children can heal, grow, and thrive.
Location: Derby
Contract: Full-time, 37.5 hrs/week
The Role
As a Children’s Support Worker, you’ll work directly with children and their mothers who are rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic abuse. You will provide one-to-one and group support, design engaging activities, and create a nurturing environment that promotes safety, resilience and confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for children within the refuge.
2. Providing one-to-one emotional and practical support tailored to each child’s needs.
3. Planning and delivering stimulating play and learning activities that encourage self-expression, creativity, and social development.
