You will be part of a dedicated team creating a better environment for people and wildlife, while supporting sustainable development. Your role will involve advising the Environment Agency’s National Infrastructure Team in the development consent order process and, more widely, in respect of changes to both planning and national infrastructure legislative regimes.
With experience in planning law, infrastructure planning law and environmental law, you will contribute to causes that benefit individuals and the wider environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a purpose you believe in.
The Environment Agency operates at the forefront of environmental change, directly affecting communities and ecosystems. We collaborate closely with diverse partners to ensure sufficient water supply, reduce flood risks, and protect air, land, and water quality, while overseeing environmental standards within which industry operates.
Responsibilities
* Advise the National Infrastructure Team on the development consent order process and related legislative changes.
* Provide legal advice on planning, national infrastructure law and environmental law matters.
* Work independently with a high degree of autonomy to influence projects and wider regimes from a legal perspective.
* Collaborate with partners to deliver sustainable solutions and protect environmental quality.
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer with the right to practise in England and Wales.
Experience of 3+ years PQE in public, planning and environmental law is preferred.

* Confident, credible and able to explain intricate legal matters clearly and concisely.
* Strong analytical skills and up-to-date knowledge of public law principles.
