Hours: 32.5 hours per week (Term Time Only + INSET Days)
* Monday & Friday: 8.40am – 3.10pm
* Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 8.40am – 4.00pm (includes 30-minute lunch break)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Practitioner (Level 3) to join our committed team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment, providing classroom support to SEN pupils. The role involves working under the direction of the class teacher to deliver high-quality support tailored to the needs of our pupils with a range of special educational needs, complex behaviours, and learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in learning activities.
* Assist in the implementation of individualised learning and care plans.
* Promote good behaviour and address challenging behaviours in line with the school's policies.
* Provide personal care, including toileting and feeding, as required.
* Prepare classroom materials and assist in the organisation of resources.
* Contribute to the development of curriculum activities and school policies.
* Support the supervision of pupils during lunch and break times.
* Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to foster a nurturing learning environment.
* Use ICT effectively to support learning and maintain records.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, BTEC, NNEB, or equivalent. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above.
* Experience: Prior experience working with students with special educational needs, including complex behaviours and disabilities.
* Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
* Commitment: Flexibility to attend parents' evenings and other school events as required.
* Legal Requirements: Enhanced DBS check for regulated activity, satisfactory medical clearances.
