Hall Brown Family Law is a boutique family law firm specialising in high‑net‑worth family law. The firm is recruiting a permanent paralegal for its Bedford Row, London office.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
* Assist fee earners across London and in the wider firm, providing support that is an excellent learning opportunity.
* Offer clear, concise legal advice to clients and communicate effectively with principals and colleagues to progress cases.
* Demonstrate excellent client care, manage and exceed client expectations, and apply professional judgment, research and problem‑solving to achieve the best cost‑effective outcome.
* Prepare and manage your own fee‑earning work, ensuring profitable contribution in line with company procedures, and maintain financial control of your caseload (time recording, collection of monies, billing).
* Build and maintain professional, friendly relationships, meeting high expectations and fostering productive teamwork.
* Engage in business development and networking externally, raise the firm’s profile, and contribute to internal marketing efforts.
* Work both independently and as part of a team, utilising all services and resources to support productivity.
* Prioritise caseload and deadlines with flexibility and self‑motivation.
* Maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
* Participate in departmental and firm‑wide activities.
* Comply with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Code of Conduct at all times.
* Carry out any other duties as reasonably instructed.
* Develop technical ability and skills as a solicitor, meeting CPD requirements and training, and work more independently over time.
* Use Microsoft Office packages (Word, Outlook, Excel) proficiently.
Qualifications
* Strong academic background – a Law degree is required.
* Some paralegal or equivalent experience and an understanding of family law is desirable but not essential.
* Efficient, confident, and a first‑rate communicator.
* Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
* Flexibility, strong prioritisation skills, and a professional attitude.
Work Environment and Development
The role is based primarily at the Bedford Row, London office, with the ability to travel to other offices as required. Early‑stage employees may advance in career and salary as the firm expands.
