Communications Executive
Contractor – 24 to 32 Hours/Week (flexible)

About the role
Hands-on and social-media-savvy, you’ll be a creative, self-motivated Communications Executive who’s great with words and passionate about shaping internal and external communications for a global organisation. If you love telling stories that engage, inform and inspire – this could be the perfect role for you.
You’ll work directly with our team to grow MGI Worldwide’s brand and voice, especially across digital platforms. From crafting content that positions MGI as a leading international network, to building interest around member stories, your ideas will have a real impact.
About us
We’re a small team based in the UK and Portugal supporting MGI Worldwide – a membership organisation of over 200 independent accounting firms in almost 100 countries. For 77 years, MGI has fostered collaboration and cross-border business, helping members support clients while staying independent. We pride ourselves on being personal, global, and collaborative.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Drive and shape MGI’s communications - delivering fresh, engaging content that aligns with our goals, values, tone of voice and brand identity
* Own the content calendar – from planning and writing to publishing across channels.
* Develop a content plan that highlights the value of membership and positions MGI as a “go-to” network for independent firms - connecting with members, new members, and clients.
* Write and edit content for website, newsletters, blogs, success stories, PR, and social media
* Bring member stories to life with energy and creativity, promoting expertise and contributions.
* Support campaigns, events and membership activites – ensuring messaging is consistent and compelling
* See what’s working, follow digital trends, and share new content ideas – including thought leadership topics that resonate with MGI’s audience
Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone hands-on, collaborative, and proactive – able to build strong relationships across teams, cultures, and regions.
Experience and qualifications:
* Experience in communications, marketing or content creation – ideally in a professional services or membership setting
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* A confident, collaborative personality – someone who’s happy working independently but also loves being part of a team
* A strong feel for tone, messaging and storytelling – especially online
* A good grasp of social media platforms (LinkedIn is our focus) and what makes content shareable
* A relevant degree or communications qualification
Working hours and location
* Freelance/contractor basis – 24 – 32 hours per week
* Flexible working schedule – hours can be spread throughout the week
* Remote role, but candidates should be within three hour time difference of the UK
