Typically, this person will lead survey operations from a shore-based Remote Operations Centre, acting as the senior technical authority during shift and ensuring safe, accurate and efficient offshore data acquisition and vessel support.

Duties and responsibilities of the Onshore Senior Surveyor:
Act as Shift Lead and primary escalation point for survey operations Conduct pre-shift briefings and coordinate daily operational priorities Monitor vessel survey performance and reallocate resources as required Oversee calibration, verification and performance of survey sensors and positioning systems (including USBL and geodetic setup) Monitor real-time data acquisition and carry out QA/QC checks Troubleshoot technical and equipment integration issues Review logs, reports and documentation, ensuring client and project compliance Liaise with technical teams including data processing and GIS to support integrated project delivery Support project documentation and report sign-off
Qualifications and requirements for the Onshore Senior Surveyor:
Minimum 5 years offshore survey experience Degree in Hydrographic Surveying, Geodetic Surveying or similar discipline Strong experience in survey sensor calibration and subsea positioning systems Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills Strong communication and leadership capability Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights) within a 24/7 operation Must be based within commutable distance of Southampton
