We expect all of our employees to work within these values. This job role is for House Manager in one of our new Supported Living Services within the Bridgend Locality. We are looking for someone that has experience with rotas and staff management and will work, at all times, within our company values, which are incredibly important to ensure we have a positive working culture.

Main duties and responsibilities:

* To work together, and within our values, with other team members, carrying out designated tasks involving direct care;
* To work in a positive, collaborative and positive way with the Registered Manager (Head Of Care)
* To be responsible principally for residents care needs and provide health supervision and attention through direct care where needed
* To ensure that all duties undertaken by junior staff are performed to the required standard, and that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere
* To work a minimum of 40 hours a week on a rota system.
* To act as a key worker to a number of residents, promoting independence with dignity and respect, robustly encouraging control and choice;
* To contribute to the planning of care for individual residents and maintaining care records on residents where appropriate including reporting of any observations made
* To manage the day to tasks needed for the smooth running of the home
* To lead and monitor junior members of staff, ensure they are up to date with required training
* To ensure adequate staff cover is maintained for all shifts to ensure that residents are kept safe and their health welfare needs are met and, where necassary, cover such deficiencies until proper staffing can be provided
* To be 'on-call' or arrange on call for emergencies arising in your setting
* To prepare rotas for your setting, working in unison with other settings
* To be responsible, principally for dealing with residents and residents relations concerning health matters
* To be responsible for ensuring activities for residents are a focal point in your setting and to work with activity coordinator to ensure activities happen on a regular basis
* To advise and support staff and residents on cooking and food hygiene
* To ensure that all rooms, walkways and common areas are properly cleaned and maintained to a high standard
* Ensure any medication errors, safeguarding reports and other incidents are reported appropriately and in agreed timescales in absence of manager and review sheets signed each month
* To conduct team and resident meetings
* Staff supervisions and appraisals in line with company policy and regulatory requirements
* Complete inductions for new starters
* Ensure both staff and individual files are kept and maintained to a high standard
* Ensure all key worker responsibilities are completed
* Ensure all relevant H&S tasks for the setting are completed in line with company policy
* To act in an emergency to notify the emergency services, Operational Director and/or Registered Manager;
* Function's effectively as part of the team;
* Observe and ensure that home standards are maintained in respect of good housekeeping, personal hygiene and food hygiene.
* To carry out other duties which may be required under the direction of the Registered Manager or by an individual acting on their behalf;
* To work in accordance with Social Care Wales Code of Practice, and Serendipity Care home Policies and Procedure;
* To participate in supervision and attend training and education as identified at annual appraisals and /or by the Organisation
* Registration with Social Care Wales is a desirable advantage to have for this post.
* Due to the nature of the post a Driving License and access to a vehicle is essential

Job Type: Full-time
