Reference 136499 Transaction Manager Erdington, Birmingham £45000.00 to £48320.00 per annum plus car allowance 37.5 hours per week Closing date 28/11/2025 About the role The purpose of the role is to lead key financial operations across Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Cashbook Management, and Rent Income Allocations. You will ensure strong financial controls and deliver process improvements across the team and wider business. What you’ll be doing Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control and Rent Income Allocations. Provide management support for the whole team to include team development and regular performance reviews Create a culture of delivery and process improvement Ensure accuracy in processing of transactional data Ensure monthly reconciliation of balance sheets Ensure good quality process notes for all processes Ensure a strong audit trail is maintained for all transactions Responsible for developing and implementing appropriate policies in areas of responsibility, in line with current legislation and best practice To establish and monitor performance metrics, reporting on progress towards targets that reflect the performance of the team and it’s impact on Trident Actively involved in testing of new IT systems or system improvements Contribute to the continual improvement and efficiency, within Finance and the business Effective business partnering of role building, maintaining, and sustaining relationships with key colleagues Deal with queries effectively, liaising with outside agencies and colleagues Create good relationships across the business. Building trust in our team, our systems, and our processes Who we’re looking for? Experience of managing financial processes within social housing or similar organisation. Experience of monitoring ledger control accounts and balance sheets and ensuring correct postings across all ledgers. Demonstrable evidence of managing a multi-disciplined transaction team. Experience of working with and improving finance systems and housing systems. A relevant professional qualification and suitable experience in a social housing or not for profit organisation Strong working knowledge of maintaining financial controls and adhering to procurement policies and procedures Knowledge of rent transaction posting and the impact on tenancy balances and arrears Understand double entry to ensure transactions are posted correctly across multiple systems Good knowledge of Excel and other MS packages and a sound knowledge of other ICT solutions including Housing Management and Finance Systems. Understanding of risk management including identifying and progressing mitigating controls Exceptional communication skills including verbal, non-verbal and written. Very strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Highly organised, supportive, and collaborative Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Able to motivate teams and contribute as a team player. Emotionally intelligent with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce Capable of holding colleagues accountable to ensure adherence to finance policies across the business.
