Overview
Our client, a well-established law firm in Stony Stratford, is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Secretary / Paralegal to support the Partner with a full range of residential property matters. This is a hands‑on role covering sales, purchases, new builds, shared ownership, transfers of equity and mortgage transactions, with full involvement from instruction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with sales and purchases, including new build and shared ownership matters.
* Handle transfer of equity and mortgage transactions.
* Liaise with estate agents, buyer and seller solicitors.
* Raise and respond to legal enquiries.
* Undertake anti-money laundering and conflict checks.
* Assist Partners and Accounts with source of funds and source of wealth checks.
* Prepare and check sales contracts.
* Collate and manage all supporting legal documentation.
* Deal with transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
* Maintain regular client contact via telephone, email and in person.
* Liaise with the Land Registry, submit applications and deal with requisitions.
* Submit SDLT applications and deal with stamp duty regulations.
* Support with management company requirements where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience within residential conveyancing as a Secretary or Paralegal.
* Confident liaising with clients, solicitors and external bodies.
* Strong understanding of the conveyancing process from start to finish.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Professional, reliable and client-focused.
Desirable
* Strong experience using the Land Registry portal.
* Experience dealing with SDLT applications and requisitions
