We are seeking a friendly and reliable individual to join our team as a Catering Assistant. This is a 20-hour per week permanent position, with shifts scheduled across various days and evenings, including weekends.
This post requires flexibility, an excellent work ethic, and a passion for delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. Experience in catering or bar service is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Our students and staff are at the heart of everything we do. You will need to ensure that this is paramount to everything you do.

We are an accredited Living Wage Foundation Employer and currently pay the real living wage, which is currently £24,309 per annum (pro rata for part time). In recognition of this, the starting salary for this post has been increased to pay this higher amount which currently supersedes the actual Grade 2 salary before living wage.
About you
The ideal candidate will have;
* Have good verbal and written communication skills
* Have knowledge of food hygiene
* Be a team player
* Have excellent organisational skills
You will need to;
* Prepare and serve food and beverages to customers in a professional and efficient manner
* Operate the bar, including serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks responsibly
* Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained across all catering and bar areas
* Handle card transactions accurately
* Set up and clear down event or service areas as required
* Support the wider team during events, functions, and busy service times
* Deliver excellent customer service and responding to customer needs and enquiries
* Follow all licensing and health & safety regulations
* Support with student events and being a key part to the student experience
Qualifications
Essential;
* Basic Food Hygiene (or to be obtained during probation period)
Desirable;
* Professional qualification / accreditation in catering or customer service
* NVQ Level 1
* Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
* Level 3 Food Safety Award
