Engineer Surveyors visit client sites to carry out inspections and assess a wide range of plant, equipment, and installations. Newly recruited Engineer Surveyors are enrolled on an unrivalled induction training programme. This role is suitable for an experienced engineer with strong knowledge of the Lift and Crane discipline.
Responsibilities
* Anticipate client needs and help ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Collaborate with Engineer Surveyor Team and Senior Operations Team Leaders.
* Prepare inspection reports using electronic reporting for fast delivery to clients.
* Carry out hands-on inspections of plant and equipment (lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, construction plant).
* Work in environments that may be physically demanding, including working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, and in hot or cold conditions; exposure to noise and dust.
What You Bring / Qualifications
* Up-to-date knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules related to the Lift and Crane discipline.
* Ability to make well-informed decisions and take responsibility.
* Strong planning skills (short, medium, and long term) including diarising meetings, visits, and work allocation.
* Ability to travel effectively within your local area.
* Experience in processing documentation and general administration in a timely manner.
* Willingness to support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors as required.
* Passion for engineering, self-driven, and capable of daily client interaction.
* Background in lifts, cranes, materials handling with hands-on experience in manufacturing, repair, or maintenance roles.
* Strong customer interaction, with good oral and written communication skills.
Essential Skills
* NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical-related subject.
* Full valid UK driving licence.
* Effective time management and the ability to organise weekly work independently.
* Comfortable using tablets and smartphones as part of the role.
Desirable Skills
* Incorporated Engineer (desirable).
