Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Mechanical Engineer role
Within the role you will:
* Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion
* Act as a key client interface, building and maintaining strong working relationships
* Develop design briefs, project-specific criteria, and cost-effective engineering solutions
* Oversee tender processes, budgets, and commercial aspects of project delivery
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring quality of design and installation
* Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Strong experience in mechanical design within the Building Services sector
* Proven ability to manage projects and lead design delivery
* Knowledge of current British Standards and industry regulations
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
* Ability to produce and review technical calculations, drawings, and specifications
* Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination within construction projects
