Panel Machinist Howdens are recruiting a Machine Operator to join our team based at our manufacturing site in Howden, East Yorkshire. This is an essential role where you will safely manufacture a range of panels to the correct quality specification. You will be interacting with various teams across our business so you will have excellent people and communication skills to share your knowledge, experience, and best practice with your team. Pay rate and shift pattern as a Machine Operator: £42,137.68 per annum shift allowance Rotating 4x 10 hours days/nights (once trained) What you'll be doing: Performing machine pre use safety checks Setting up the machine/process in accordance with the specific SOP Running Panel production lines as part of a team environment Producing confirmations on MES Performing detailed process quality checks in accordance with the area SOP Changing tooling and performing minor adjustments to the desired standards Our Machine Operators need to: Have manufacturing experience working in a fast-paced factory environment Ability to read and understand manual handling risk assessments and SOPs Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Have a background in edge banding technology and/or CNC cutting/drilling Diagnostic and problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset, an understanding and appreciation of 5S approach to continually seek ways to improve our processes Work effectively as part of a team with the ability to operate independently as required Good communication skills SAP knowledge desirable but not essential Benefits of working as a Machine Operator: Pension plan with a maximum company contribution of 12% Free parking & lunch at our on-site canteen 25 days holiday bank holidays with an opportunity to purchase additional days Staff discount Friendly and supportive environment offering exceptional rewards and recognition About Howdens Howdens Joinery is the UK’s number one trade kitchen supplier providing thousands of products across kitchens, joinery, and hardware.
