Your new roleAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes forplexponents. You will support production operations, introduce new technologies, and drive efficiency improvements across a variety of processes including surface treatments, bonding, painting, and assembly.Key responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and improving manufacturing methods to enhance quality and efficiency
2. Designing and specifying tooling, fixtures, and equipment
3. Leading process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
4. Supporting new product introduction and change management processes
5. Defining manufacturing process flows and supporting layout optimisation
6. Creating and maintaining technical documentation, BOMs, and procedures
7. Providing technical support across production, quality, and supply chain teams
8. Supporting customer requirements and responding to technical queries
9. Assisting with training operators on new or updated processes
10. Driving innovation and implementing new technologies where appropriate
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will have:
11. HNC/HND (Level 3 or above) in Mechanical Engineering or similar (degree desirable)
12. Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a regulated or high-quality environment
13. Experience in at least one of the following processes: surface treatments, bonding, painting, assembly, or automated processes
14. Strong problem-solving skills with familiarity in tools such as 8D or structured root cause analysis
15. Excellentmunication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
16. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Desirable:
17. Experience with automation or robotics
18. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (FMEA, SPC, VSM, TPM)
19. CAD and ERP system experience
20. Data analysis or Lean/Six Sigma exposure
