Senior Chartered Building Surveyor
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working)
This is an opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join a respected multidisciplinary property consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality Building Surveying services across the education, public sector and retail sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of newly secured projects, they are looking to appoint a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their Birmignham team. This is a client-facing role with a 70% project and contract administration bias, offering exposure to a wide range of refurbishment, maintenance and remedial schemes.
Role Responsibilities
* Lead and manage refurbishment, maintenance and remedial projects from inception to completion
* Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employer’s Agent under JCT contracts
* Undertake building surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting
* Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
* Provide strategic advice on asset condition, compliance and lifecycle planning
* Manage client relationships and deliver clear, high-quality reporting
* Support and mentor junior surveyors and APC candidates
* Work across a diverse portfolio including education, public sector and retail assets
Candidate Requirements
* MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor (or close to achieving)
* Proven experience within a consultancy environment
* Strong experience in contract administration and project delivery
* Good technical knowledge of building pathology and construction
* Experience working across commercial, education or public sector projects
* Strong client-facing and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
* Experience mentoring junior team members is desirable
