Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join the team and support the core server hardware, databases and software applications across the organisation ensuring integrity, security and availability of all force systems. As the Associate Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for delivering specialist 2nd/3rd line support for key technologies across the force, including databases, storage, applications, backup, and the wider server estate. You will be proactively monitoring systems, making suggestions for improvements and assisting in the delivery of a resilient, secure and highly available IT service to the force. Tasks & Responsibilities Provide specialist technical skills and knowledge that facilitate the provision, configuration and support of force systems or applications. Manage the security, availability, capability, and performance of force systems and/or software applications. Support the delivery of solutions in response to incident, configuration, availability, capacity, continuity, and release management in line with agreed procedures. Coordinate standardised processes (e.g. change and release management) for hardware or software changes across various technical teams within the department. Skills and Experience Essential Microsoft certified qualification The ability to demonstrate significant experience in a 2nd/3rd line server administration role VMWare products configuration and administration Backup technologies utilisation M365 Exchange Online, Teams, Intune and Defender Experience of supporting SQL Server components, availability groups, failover clustering Significant demonstrable experience of operating at a 2nd/3rd line role in an IT environment Desirable Hyper-V configuration and administration Microsoft Server 2012-2025 Active Director Group Policy Experience of supporting server deployments activities through a development, design, test, and implementation lifecycle PowerShell scripting £ 45147/year Talent International UK and it's subsidiaries, Digital Gurus, Infinite Talent and Rethink act as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
