Your Role
As the UK Tax Analyst, you will report directly to the European Tax Manager and play a crucial role in supporting all UK tax matters. Your mission? To ensure accurate and timely tax reporting while maintaining compliance with HMRC and SOX. You will partner with the UK business on tax issues, working cross-functionally to prepare documentation, provide advice, and support the UK team in achieving precise tax reporting.
This role offers you the autonomy to shape internal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across all tax areas. You will implement strategies to manage tax risk, monitor changes in UK tax legislation, and present insights and solutions to the European Tax Manager.
Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid working model, with a requirement to collaborate in person at our Brakes office in Ashford, Kent once a week. Candidates should be within a commutable distance and open to occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage UK VAT group processes for timely and accurate VAT return submissions.
* Provide VAT advice to the business, including data collection and review from UK subsidiaries.
* Continuously review VAT processes and controls to minimize risk.
* Support the European Tax Manager with the UK annual tax compliance process.
* Prepare capital allowance analysis for new site acquisitions or major improvements.
* Complete the UK annual corporate tax provision and statutory notes for audits.
* Assist with the UK Deferred tax process and prepare necessary documentation.
* Manage the preparation and submission of various tax returns and certificates.
* Prepare quarterly tax submissions for Sysco US.
* Review reported tax balances monthly and assist with annual related party information collection.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should be newly qualified in CTA or ACA with a solid understanding of VAT and Corporation Tax. This is a perfect opportunity for someone eager to join a global organization undergoing transformation and modernization.

Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is ideal, along with exceptional planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
