Client/child:
Tommy is a bright, engaging, and inquisitive 12-year-old boy who lives at home with his mum and a very friendly cat. Tommy has a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition and ADHD.
Overview of role:
This is a sole charge role for an experienced SEN Nanny/Manny. During term time, your day will start with collecting Tommy from school and traveling home using public transport. At home, Tommy enjoys relaxing and playing with his Lego and small world toys. You will prepare dinner and support Tommy with his conversational skills during mealtime. After dinner, Tommy has a short period of screen time before starting his evening routine. He is quite independent but will need prompting and encouragement to take his bath and get ready for bed. Tommy responds well to positive reinforcement and routines, so the SEN Nanny/Manny should be confident in setting up and implementing clear routines. During school holidays, the role involves planning all meals and activities for Tommy, including taking walks in the park and local area, visiting London museums early to avoid busy times, and arranging playdates with friends. Light household tasks related to Tommy are also part of the role.
Who this job would suit:
This position is ideal for a professional and confident SEN Nanny/Manny with previous experience in a sole charge role, particularly supporting a young person with ADHD and those on the Autistic Spectrum. The candidate should be confident traveling around London using public transport.
What’s great about this job:
Tommy and his family offer a rewarding environment for a dedicated professional.
