Role Overview
The Welfare Officer will support student wellbeing, attendance, and safeguarding processes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting students with pastoral concerns
* Managing minor medical issues and first aid
* Liaising with parents regarding welfare matters
* Supporting attendance monitoring
* Assisting with safeguarding referrals
* Supporting vulnerable and at-risk students
* Working closely with Heads of Year
* Recording welfare concerns accurately
* Supporting reintegration meetings
* Liaising with external agencies
This role requires strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
Pastoral & Safeguarding Team
The Welfare Officer works closely with the Safeguarding Lead, Attendance Officer, and pastoral leaders.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in welfare or pastoral support
* Strong understanding of safeguarding
* Ability to build positive relationships with students
* Excellent communication skills
* Organised and calm under pressure
* First aid qualification (desirable)
* Commitment to student wellbeing
