About the Role
Runwood Homes is seeking an experienced and innovative Head of Catering and Commercial Services to lead our catering operations across the group. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and enhance the dining experience for our residents, while driving excellence, consistency, and commercial growth within a leading care home provider.
As Head of Catering and Commercial Services, you will oversee all aspects of catering across our care homes, ensuring every meal served is of the highest quality, nutritionally balanced, and tailored to the needs and preferences of our residents.
You will provide leadership and direction to our catering teams, supporting chefs and managers to deliver exceptional standards of food, presentation, and service. Alongside this, you will take responsibility for the commercial elements of the catering function, managing supplier relationships, budgets, and developing new opportunities that align with the company’s values and growth plans.
This role requires travel to our homes across the country, so a full driving license and access to a car is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support catering teams across care homes to deliver excellence in food quality and service.
* Design and implement creative, seasonal menus that prioritise nutrition, variety, and resident satisfaction.
* Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
* Manage catering budgets, procurement, and supplier partnerships effectively.
* Identify and develop commercial opportunities within catering and hospitality.
* Drive innovation and sustainability initiatives, reducing waste and promoting local sourcing.
* Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align catering operations with our overall strategic vision and values.

About You
* Experienced in managing multi-site catering or hospitality services, ideally within the care or healthcare sector.
* Passionate about food, nutrition, and enhancing the wellbeing of older people.
* Commercially astute, with proven experience managing budgets and supplier contracts.
* Skilled in leading, developing, and inspiring teams to deliver consistent excellence.
* Organised, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
