Chief Operating Officer
A fast-growing, European hotel operator with over 20 properties across numerous European countries and turnover of c.£20m is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Chief Operating Officer.
With offices in London (Executive & Finance) and Europe (Revenue Management, HR, Sales & Marketing), the business operates across four geographic regions: UK, North & Central Europe, Italy and Southern Europe. The portfolio is led by Area Managers and supported by a central commercial and operational infrastructure.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring extensive travel across the UK and Europe

The Chief Operating Officer Role
Reporting to the Chairman, the COO will sit on the Board and lead operational performance, commercial delivery and multi-country team alignment across the portfolio.
Chief Operating Officer Key Responsibilities
Drive operational excellence across all properties
Lead and develop Area Managers and Country Managers, ensuring accountability and performance delivery
Improve guest satisfaction, online review scores and brand consistency
Maximise Yield and Revenue per Available Bed (RevPAB) through close partnership with Revenue Management
Directly lead the Commercial Team (Revenue Management & Group Sales), Marketing and HR functions
Ensure adherence to operational, financial and brand standards across all sites
Validate and challenge country-specific operational requirements and regulatory interpretations
Support new openings, refurbishments and capital projects in partnership with a Property Consultant
Maintain and enhance reporting, KPI tracking and performance transparency
Drive on-site sales initiatives and commercial awareness at property level
Make decisive people and performance decisions where required
Contribute strategically at Board level, clearly articulating operational realities and opportunities
Chief Operating Officer Profile
We are seeking a confident, decisive hospitality leader who:
- has strong experience in the European, rooms-led sector
- understands the complexity of multi-site, multi-country operations
- is highly commercial, data-driven and comfortable with revenue optimisation
- can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership
- is an excellent communicator able to influence both Board and property teams
- is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
- has experience driving process, systems and performance improvement
The business has recently invested significantly in technology and infrastructure, including new PMS, AI-driven yield management, HR systems, booking and SEO tools, and guest review platforms. The incoming Chief Operating Officer will build on this strong operational foundation and continue to drive efficiencies, commercial performance and growth.
