Senior Service Engineer - Cardiff
Senior Service Engineer with the Loxam Group to lead and support the engineering team in a busy workshop in Cardiff.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Location Service Manager with the daily running of the workshop.
* Ensure 100% coverage for servicing and maintenance of the modern hire fleet.
* Carry out pre‑delivery inspections of each machine, at depot or on site as required.
* Produce monthly plant inspection reports, a service schedule, and organise workloads of engineers to meet company policies.
* Maintain the appearance of the fleet to corporate standard.
* Offer guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls.
* Locate required spares, ensuring CE rating compliance where applicable.
* Follow guidelines set out in the Quality and Health and Safety policy.
* Maintain a basic stock control system for workshop spares.
* Identify training and development needs of workshop personnel.
* Support depot engineers with technical help and advice.
Qualifications
* Supervisory experience in a busy workshop and supervising engineers/technicians, with the ability to set high standards.
* Previous experience in the Powered Access industry or other construction plant hire.
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a maintenance or engineering discipline.
* Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
* Experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems is desired.
* Good interpersonal skills and an understanding of the importance of excellent customer service.
