Assistant Quantity Surveyor
An Assistant Quantity Surveyor (QS) is required for the demolition and earthworks contracting team. This is a full-time position based at our office in Eversley, Hampshire, involving travel to various sites. The projects vary in size, complexity, and location.
Key Responsibilities
* Producing applications for payment, including valuation of variations and loss and/or expense.
* Agreeing on interim payment amounts with clients and monitoring payment notices.
* Preparing project budgets with Contracts Managers and the Operations Director.
* Monitoring budgets against costs and projections monthly.
* Sending subcontractor inquiries, analyzing quotations, placing orders, and managing interim payments and final accounts.
* Ensuring contractual obligations are met.
* Advising contracts managers on commercial matters such as variations and delays, and ensuring they are recorded.
* Assisting in preparing contractual notices like EWNs/NCEs and EOT requests.
* Conducting site visits to monitor variations and maintain site records.
* Maintaining good relationships with clients, consultants, and colleagues.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in surveying or construction management within demolition or earthworks is desirable but not essential.
* Understanding of JCT Standard Forms of Contract or similar.
* Quantity surveying degree or professional qualifications.
* Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
* Experience in placing subcontract orders is desirable.
* Experience in producing and monitoring project budgets.
* Experience in managing payment schedules.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
