Join our supportive team as a Learning Support Assistant (3 - 4 days) in Nuneaton and support young adults whose primary need is autism to achieve their goals and build brighter, more independent futures.

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Range from £23,846.04 - £24,424.82 (FTE) - 3 days a week = actual salary range £11,657.89 - £11,714.76, 4 days = actual salary range £15,619.67 - £15,998.79

Contract: Part-Time (3 or 4 days per week), Term time only (36 weeks)

Learning Support Assistant – Nuneaton (3 or 4 days a week)


Overall Purpose

To support teaching, learning and assessment by working closely with tutors in lessons to enable our students to achieve, progress and develop independence all in accordance with our organisational values:

* Support the effective embedding of literacy, numeracy, communication, IT, British Values and Prevent in all aspects of learning.
* Support the incorporation of a student’s Behaviour & Communication Plan.
* Ensure that all students are supported appropriately and receive a safe learning experience, which meets both their individual needs and those of their EHCP.
* Support the process of tracking a student’s progress, including accurate record keeping (EFL)
* Ensure the safety of students by supporting and adhering to Risk Assessments.
* Provide mobility and personal care support to our students where needed.
* Support students on visits and work placement opportunities.
* If necessary, travel to meet with the student.
* The above list is neither exhaustive nor exclusive and the post holder will be expected to undertake any other duties within their capability and experience that may be relevant and necessary to fulfil the post effectively.

Education & Qualifications

* Level 2 or above in English and Maths Essential Certs
* Level 2 or above in Autism or willing to work towards Essential Certs
* To hold or be willing to work towards an appropriate Learning Support Qualification on passing Probation Desirable Certs


Experience, Knowledge & Abilities

* Classroom assistance: Experience in assisting teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and student engagement Essential App Form & Int
* Teamwork: Collaborative skills to work effectively with teachers, therapists and other professionals Essential App Form & Int
* IT: Experience of working with Office 365 including Outlook, Word and Excel Essential App Form & Int


Interpersonal Skills & Qualities

* Strong communication skills: Clear and effective communication is essential for conveying information to students and collaborating with teachers Essential App Form & Int
* Adaptability and flexibility: LSAs often work with students who have diverse needs and learning styles, so being adaptable and open to new methods is crucial Essential App Form & Int
* Problem-solving and critical thinking: Being able to think on your feet and solve problems as they arise is important for addressing students’ needs Essential App Form & Int
* Time management and organisation: Managing time efficiently and staying organised helps in balancing multiple tasks and responsibilities Essential App Form & Int
