Step into a Leadership Role
As our Head Veterinary Nurse, you will lead and support our nursing team, ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients. You will have the opportunity to influence clinical practices, mentor junior nurses, and collaborate closely with the veterinary team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the nursing team, providing guidance and support.
2. Oversee patient care, ensuring best practices in all nursing aspects.
3. Assist in managing clinical and operational procedures, including stock control and protocols.
4. Perform nursing duties such as surgeries, consultations, and inpatient care.
5. Create a positive, collaborative, and supportive team environment.
6. Work with the Practice Manager and veterinary team to improve efficiency and patient care.
Our Dedicated Team
We are an RCVS-accredited small animal veterinary hospital in Burnley, featuring a dedicated Exotics Department. Our team cares for patients 24/7, with a well-equipped practice offering diagnostic, surgical, medical, dental, x-ray, laboratory, and preventative services.
The Skills You Will Bring
Applicants should be qualified and registered Veterinary Nurses with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience. Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills are essential, along with a passion for clinical excellence. Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Working Hours
40 hours per week on a rota, including some weekends. This is a fixed-term role for 9-12 months, covering maternity leave.
