About the role

We are a high-growth SaaS company scaling rapidly. With strong recurring revenues and ambitious expansion plans, we are looking for a hands-on assistant accountant to support the finance function for six months during a critical growth phase.

What success looks like

4. Reliable, timely management reporting delivered monthly.
5. Forecasting and cash management processes in place and trusted.
6. SaaS metrics tracked accurately and understood by leadership.
7. Finance operations running smoothly in our lean team structure.

What you’ll do

8. Financial Reporting & Compliance
9. Deliver accurate monthly management accounts (payroll accruals, prepayments).
10. Ensure timely month-end close and reconciliations.
11. Treasury & Operations
12. Oversee day-to-day finance operations (AR, AP, bank reconciliations).
13. Set up supplier and payroll payment runs.
14. Payroll
15. Work hands-on with payroll system and outsourced vendor.
16. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
17. Business Partnering (Forecasting & Analysis)
18. Collaborate closely with stakeholders providing clear and actionable financial insight.
19. Support rolling forecast processes. Perform variance analysis with clear commentary for management.
20. Support on ad-hoc strategic projects

About you

21. Strong experience in finance / controller roles.
22. Ability to operate as a sole finance operator (no direct reports, managing own workload end-to-end).
23. Strong technical and analytical skills, with ability to distil complex financial data into clear insights.
24. Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities.

25. Salary £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience

Working Details

This is a full-time role ( hours per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know.

This is a flexible hybrid role based in our Edinburgh HQ. We're making the most of hybrid working, so you won't need to come into the office everyday (unless you want to!).
