This role would suit someone with extensive recovery and enforcement experience who has similar experience in a customer services environment.
It is based within the Council Tax Enforcement Team & involves a minimum of 50% call centre telephone work (depending on volumes).
Duties are the maximisation of revenue by negotiating arrangements with debtors, ensuring collection of Council Tax including aged arrears.
Making decisions on the most appropriate course of enforcement action.
Dealing with telephone and written enquiries and also working from system reports, setting attachment to earnings and benefits, tracing absconders, reviewing Financial Statements etc.
Dealing with enforcement agent queries and returns, providing debt advice and welfare benefits advice as needed.
38 hour standard week with potential for up to 45 hours if work & budget allows.
Mainly working from home but required to attend the office approximately once a month to assist face to face at evening summons surgery for customers, team meetings and training.
Potential to be required to attend Magistrates Court in the future to assist customers who attend in person
