To support the recruitment and assessment of foster carers and supported lodgings hosts, ensuring high-quality care provision for children and young people in Stockton-on-Tees. Key Responsibilities * Undertake comprehensive fostering assessments of mainstream foster carers, kinship carers, and supported lodgings hosts. * Work collaboratively with fostering team colleagues, other council teams, and partner agencies. * Ensure all assessments and recommendations comply with agreed policies, procedures, and statutory guidelines. * Prepare clear, evidence-based reports to inform decision-making panels and care planning. * Contribute to the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of carers. Essential Skills & Experience * Experience in social care or related field, ideally with children and families. * Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and assessment frameworks. * Excellent communication, interviewing, and report-writing skills. * Ability to work effectively with multi-agency partners and within council procedures. Desirable * Previous experience in fostering assessments or recruitment of carers. * Understanding of local fostering services and support networks
