Key Skills
Business Development & Lead Generation –You’ll need to proactively source your own clients through networking, referrals, and marketing.
Sales & Relationship Management – You must build strong client relationships, communicate your value, and confidently advise on mortgage, bridging and protection solutions.
Product & Market Knowledge – Whole market access means more choices for clients, but it also requires a deep understanding of lenders, insurers, and financial products beyond just mortgages.
Compliance & Regulatory Understanding – To ensure compliance with ‘Consumer Duty’ and best practice for recording record keeping and advice.
Time Management & Organisation – Without structured workdays, you must manage your own schedule, balance client meetings, admin, and business growth.
Technology & Software Proficiency – You’ll be responsible for using CRM systems, product sourcing tools, mortgage software, and compliance portals efficiently.
Protection – Expanding beyond mortgages means understanding protection, to offer a comprehensive service.
