Are you an established set painter with a background in theatre or a similar industry? Do you enjoy working collaboratively to meet deadlines?
We are looking for a confident Scenic Artist to join our team based at our workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon. In this role you will create and paint scenery and props using a variety techniques and finishes.
Reporting to the Head of Scenic Art, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
1. Developing and using specialist techniques to deliver the required scenery.
2. Assisting with alterations, maintenance and refurbishment.
3. Ensuing compliance with health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
4. Working with a variety of materials to help with realisation of designs.
5. Learning new methods and innovative thinking techniques
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have:
6. Experience of set painting in theatre or similar industry.
7. The ability to paint and draw from drawings and references
8. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
9. The ability to solve problems with a positive, solutions orientated outlook
10. Creative contribution to techniques and processes, introducing new methods and approaches.
11. The ability to work collaboratively; supporting and assisting designers, colleagues and creative teams.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 1 year, based in our Workshops on Timothy's Bridge Road, in Stratford-upon-Avon, where the working hours will be 44 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
