Job Description
ALTEN UK is seeking an Environmental Project Officer to support the delivery of high‑impact sustainability and environmental management initiatives across multiple UK sites. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys stakeholder engagement, and is passionate about driving meaningful environmental change.
* Location: Broughton
* On Site: 4x days Onsite
* Clearance: Not required
* Experience Level: Mid - Senior
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development and maintenance of environmental regulatory compliance across UK sites.
* Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001.
* Help integrate sustainability practices into day‑to‑day operations and business processes.
* Contribute to sustainability engagement activities, social value initiatives, and community programmes.
* Coordinate and manage sustainability‑related projects, particularly across the Belfast and Prestwick sites.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Strong understanding of environmental legislation, sustainability standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Practical experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 14001 processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and engaging sustainability content.
* Strong organisational and project management abilities, capable of coordinating activities across multiple sites.
* Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with a diplomatic and collaborative working style.
* Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
* Awareness of global sustainability issues, trends, and emerging topics.
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 14001 certification within a multi‑site organisation.
* Background in QHSE, environmental compliance, or sustainability‑focused project delivery.
* Familiarity with social value initiatives, community engagement, or cultural change programmes.
