Maternity Service User/ Patient Experience Midwife
Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a registered Midwife to actively seek the opinion of mothers/birthing people and their families to inform service development and delivery.
This is a part time (22.5 hours per week), Permanent, Band 7 vacancy.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will demonstrate an advanced knowledge of patient experience and engagement and the patient related aspects of the Health Board's Strategic Equality Plan and the NHS Wales 'Putting Things Right' framework.
Excellent IT skills are essential as is the ability to be an effective communicator with good leadership and interpersonal skills.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Registered Midwife
* Diploma/ Degree
* Evidence of continuing practice development
Experience
* Worked in all midwifery settings
* Registered midwife with substantial post registration experience
* Experience of mentoring and developing staff
* Up to date knowledge of the main strategic challenges facing the maternity services in Wales in relation to good health and wellbeing
* Experienced as working as mentor/ coach/ practice assessor/ supervisor
* Has had responsibility of a ward or department
* Able to deliver a high standard of evidence based individual client care
* Effective communicator with good leadership and interpersonal skills
* Evidence of ability to make changes within clinical environment
* Demonstrate midwifery skills underpinned by current evidence
* Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of audit and policy
* Understanding of the All Wales Maternity Vision Health Board's Strategic Equality Plan
