The Copthorne Hotel Manchester is seeking an experienced Chef, looking for their next step to lead the Kitchen team as Senior Sous Chef
Key responsibilities include:
Providing a great working environment for the Kitchen team, ensuring there is training, guidance and support for all.
Creating menus, focusing on quality, taking into account guest preferences, seasonality and controlling food costs to achieve gross profit targets.
Placing food orders in line with purchasing instructions and specifications. Ensuring that the team are trained to deal effectively with receipt of delivery, authorising acceptance and overseeing correct storage of goods received.
Ensuring that effective systems are in place for the operation and cleaning of equipment, adhering to maintenance, safety requirements and cleaning schedules.
Ensuring appropriate systems and processes are in place to comply with regulations relating to Health & Safety, Food Safety and Emergency procedures.
Supporting the Head Chef, as required with recruitment, induction, training and development including completion of team member reviews.
What are we looking for?
Previous hotel experience as a Sous Chef/similar
Proven track record in culinary skills, kitchen management and development of the Kitchen team
Enthusiastic and motivated, with attention to detail and accuracy
An excellent communicator who has the ability to develop positive relationships with other departments
A Chef who is passionate about what they do, looking for their next step in leading a dedicated team, working in a supportive environment where the team are encouraged to achieve their potential
