Primary Care Nurse – HMP Millsike, a category C Prison in Full Sutton, East Yorkshire. Join a brand‑new healthcare team from the inception of the prison. You will work with a multi‑disciplinary team to provide nurse‑led services and prevent hospital admissions.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week on a rolling 5‑week shift pattern (1 weekend in 5). Salary: £0 – £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.
Support: Bespoke induction; Introducing Health in Justice training; competency framework; regional and national career development; a learning management system; support from the wider team.
Responsibilities
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions.
* Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
* Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group, supported by the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Provide outstanding evidence‑based care, listen to and act on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
Qualifications and Experience
* NMC registered nurse, adult registration.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.
* A non‑judgmental, compassionate approach.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in hospital, community or prison environment (desirable but not essential).
