Work base: Pentrellyncymer Outdoor Education Centre
Pentrellyncymer Outdoor Education Centre is one of two residential Centres which make up the North Wales Outdoor Education Service for the counties of Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, and Wrexham. The Centre is situated in the heart of the Hiraethog moors close to Llyn Brenig and the Alwen Reservoir. The Centre delivers residential outdoor education courses for primary aged students from year 2 upwards. Pentre Centre aims to extend the educational experiences of primary children in a broad sense utilising the medium of the outdoor environment. This will include education through environmental exploration as well as adventurous activities such as mountain biking and canoeing.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic person to deliver enjoyable and stimulating educational programmes and contribute to the efficient running of the Centre. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of, and commitment to, the role of Outdoor Education within lifelong learning. A range of NGB awards should be held, together with the ability to drive a minibus. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable. The successful candidate will be able to undertake occasional weekend work and evening duties.
Due to the nature of the post, the successful candidate will be subject to a disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. It is a requirement that the successful candidate will need to register with the Education Workforce Council prior to commencing employment.
