We are looking for an experienced clinical coder to join our busy administrative team. You will also be responsible for referrals and may have the opportunity to undertake other clinical administration for the surgery.
Main duties of the job
Medical Coding
* Summarising medical records accurately and within QOF timescales
* Coding for the practice ensuring maximum income is achieved
* Processing workflow accurately from electronic and scanned documents coding procedure, diagnosis and all relevant QOF information, adding diary dates as needed
* Patient Online access to medical records.
* To process proxy access
* To process patients request for historic medical record access
* Ensure that all patient referrals are processed within the required timescales
* Through the electronic Choose and Book system, identify and select the appropriate service providers for each referral
* Liaise with patients regarding any referral queries
You may also undertake other clinical admin work such as scanning, administration of patient records, and other ad hoc tasks

* Previous experience of clinical coding within a GP surgery
* Experience of using EMIS
