An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to join a growing organisation in Market Harborough.
Working closely with the Group Finance team, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across multiple entities within the business. This is a fully office-based position ideal for someone who thrives on variety, has excellent attention to detail, and is confident managing end-to-end finance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing transactional processing across bank, supplier and staff accounts using Xero
* Supporting purchase ledger activity: reviewing invoice coding, assisting with invoice uploads, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of transactions
* Performing regular reconciliations across credit cards, supplier accounts, and banking transactions
* Reviewing and posting payroll data processed via an external provider and ensuring it is accurately reflected in the accounts
* Reviewing external reports and aligning financial records accordingly on a weekly and monthly basis
* Acting as a point of contact for operational teams
* Supporting the preparation of month-end schedules, journals and reporting packs for management
* Working with the Group Financial Controller to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant
About You:
* Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
* Experience using Xero is highly beneficial
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Proficient in MS Excel and comfortable working with financial systems and approval platforms
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
