We are passionate about providing outstanding care to young people and families/carers, at our CAMHS inpatient unit.
You will assist the unit manager in all aspects of service provision and delivery of care within the unit. You will provide managerial and clinical supervision to a team of staff and act as a role model, providing supervision, support and leadership.
We have access to training to support you to develop your skills, including DBT/Safeguarding/STORM/Physical Health/Eating Disorder/MBT

There is access to staff support groups, monthly supervisions and reflective practice.
Main duties of the job
To assist the unit manager in the effective operational management of the unit.
To provide clinical leadership to staff from all disciplines including student nurses.
Responsible for creating and maintaining an evidence based and positive culture within the unit.
To assist the unit manager in ensuring that all staff in sphere of managerial responsibility carry out their duties and responsibilities in a manner acceptable to the trust, in keeping with Trust policies and procedures and the unit philosophy and operational policy.
To ensure that the governance agenda is delivered on the ward.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual programmes of care for young people with serious mental health issues and / or complex emotional / behavioural difficulties. Co-ordinate and manage a team of staff undertaking this responsibility.
To provide advice on care for young people with serious mental health issues and / or complex emotional/behavioural difficulties, including significant risk to self and others.
To carry out risk assessments and management plans.
To ensure that a high standard of individualised care is provided in line with the young persons care plan that will assist in recovery and rehabilitation and enhance their daily living skills.
To be involved with Quality Improvement projects, including young people and families in the process.
Involvement with recruitment and staff development.
You will provide line management and clinical supervision to more junior staff.

Person specification
Experience
* Demonstrable recent experience of working within a CAMHS inpatient environment.
* Demonstrable experience of working directly with families / carers of young people.
* Evidence of working as a sign off mentor for student nurses on placement
Knowledge
* Knowledge of mental health issues in young people
* Knowledge of legislation and National policies in relation to mental health issues in young people.
* Good working Knowledge of Mental Health Act
* Knowledge of safeguarding issues and implementation
* Knowledge of CPA processes.
Skills
* Experience of or strong interest in working with children and / or young adults with mental health issues, and their families
* Experience of supervising the work of others
* Skills in environmental / clinical risk assessment of young person with complex needs.
* Competent skills in the assessment of self-harm and serious mental illness
* Ability to empower others
Education/Qualifications
* RMN/RNLD or relevant health and social care qualification
* Evidence of professional qualification
* Mentorship/Preceptorship Qualification, inculding sign off
* Knowledge of legislation and policy
* Experience of supervision others
* Ability to work shifts across 7 days 24 hours
* Previous experience in inpatient setting

What happens after your application has been received?

What happens if I am offered the position after interview?
The hiring manager will make contact with you to verbally offer you the position. The hiring manager will then inform Recruitment of the decision and provide relevant paperwork. You will be sent a formal conditional offer via email.
