Key Responsibilities:


Laboratory Operations: Work effectively within a laboratory environment, ensuring all activities comply with safety procedures, quality standards and good laboratory practice (GLP).


Experimental Support: Assist in planning, preparing and executing experimental projects, including setting up equipment, organising materials and recording data accurately.



Formulation Analysis: Conduct formulation testing and characterisation using appropriate analytical techniques (e.g. microscopy, spectroscopy, chromatography), ensuring results are reliable, reproducible and clearly documented.



Data Handling: Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, analyse data, prepare summaries and contribute to technical reports or presentations as required.


Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with wider teams to support ongoing business needs, providing timely scientific input and operational assistance where required.


Equipment Maintenance: Carry out routine instrument checks, calibration and basic troubleshooting to ensure continuous laboratory readiness.

Collaborate with the lead professor and innovation team to develop and optimise skincare topical formulations based on current research and user insights.


These tasks are not intended as an exhaustive list of the post holder's duties. The post holder is expected to carry out any reasonable request as deemed appropriate by their Line Manager to support business needs. Specific responsibilities and authorities are defined in procedures relevant to the role.

List of All Required Experience/ Skills:

Essential

* Competent in handling laboratory instruments and materials safely.
* Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Proficient computer skills, including data entry and data analysis.
* Proven experience in a laboratory environment.
* Experience in analytical methods.
* Hands-on experience supporting experimental or research projects.


Desirable

* An understanding of energy metabolism.
* An understanding of skin biology.
* Experience using LC, UV-Vis and other analytical chemistry instruments.





List All Required Education/ Qualifications/ Training:

Essential

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience in topical formulation development or cosmetic product R&D (lab or industry).
* Excellent problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and a collaborative mindset.
