About The Role
Net Zero Teesside (NZT) is one of the UK's leading low-carbon initiatives, aiming to help the country reach its net zero targets. Based in Teesside, the project will bring together industry, innovation, and community to create a more sustainable future.
We're looking for an Environmental Sustainability Advisor to join the NZT team. In this role, you'll help make sure the project is delivered responsibly, with respect for the environment and local communities. You'll play a key part in developing practical ecology and sustainability measures on the ground.
Responsibilities:
* Give clear advice on environmental legislation and what it means for the project.
* Support licence and consent applications and ensure they're delivered to a high standard
* Help develop and oversee ecology and biodiversity mitigation plans
* Work with colleagues, contractors, and partners to keep the project environmentally compliant
* Build positive relationships with Regulators and local stakeholders
* Contribute to reporting and tracking environmental performance
Requirements:
* A background in environmental science, ecology, sustainability or a related subject
* Experience of working with environmental legislation in practice
* Knowledge of environmental licences, permits and consent process
