We are looking for Class 1 Welders to join our team at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.

Job Description:
* Apply Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding to a variety of heavy-duty marine and structural components
* Work on submarines, surface ships, dockside infrastructure, and controlled factory environments
* Operate welding and some fabrication equipment to consistently high standards
* Read and interpret complex engineering drawings from a welding perspective, procedures, and technical specifications
* Work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to meet tight safety and performance targets
What you'll need:
* Strong capability in MMA/Stick welding on heavy plate, structural steel, or marine-grade materials
* Experience working in shipbuilding, ship repair, infrastructure, or large-scale construction environments
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions
* Confident use of welding sets, fabrication tools, and general workshop equipment
* Marine engineering background or experience on Royal Navy or commercial vessels - Desirable
* Time-served trade apprenticeship in welding, fabrication, marine, or naval engineering - Desirable
* Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to welding - Desirable
* Level 3 Engineering or Modern Apprenticeship - Desirable
* Level 2 Engineering qualification supported by significant practical experience - Desirable

* Pre 12 weeks - £27.64/hour
* Post 12 Weeks - £27.64/hour
Umbrella
* Pre 12 weeks - £35.24/hour
* Post 12 weeks - £36.02/hour
