Consultant Clinical Psychologist (3-4 Days per week)
Toprovide professional, clinical, and strategic leadership for the delivery and development of Clinical services across Liberty Care Ltds supported living services.
The postholder will ensure the systematic provision of high-quality, evidence-based psychological input for adults with complex needs, including those who display behaviours that challenge and/or have mental health difficulties.
They will contribute expert psychological knowledge to service planning, workforce development, and quality-assurance processes, supporting Liberty Care Ltds commitment to excellent, safe, and person-centred care.
Job responsibilities
* Deliver and oversee specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with complex LD/MH/dual-diagnosis/forensic presentations.
* Lead clinical governance, audit and outcome-based service improvement.
* Embed Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) and trauma-informed practice across teams.
* Provide supervision and professional leadership to clinicians and operational leaders.
* Work collaboratively with commissioners, Health Board colleagues and partner agencies.
You will also receive structured clinical supervision via the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) LD/MH Directorate.

Qualifications
* Honours degree in Psychology, giving eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, or equivalent accredited by the BPS, giving eligibility for membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology of the British Psychological Society.
* Clinical supervision training.
* Has maintained a programme of Continuing Professional Development equivalent to at least 10 days per year relevant to the provision of Learning Disability / Mental health services.
* Completion of training and/or continuing professional development regarding clinical leadership of Clinical Psychology or other health services.
* Further related academic qualifications e.g. training in specific therapy model, MSc. in Positive Behaviour Support.
* Advanced training in a formal psychological therapy.
Experience
* At least five years leadership experience in Learning Disability / Mental Health services in the NHS (or equivalent).
* Experience of working with key partners and commissioners regarding the development of services.
* Experience of developing and delivering CPD activities for staff including Clinical Psychologists.
* At least six years post qualification clinical experience of working with people with a learning disability who engage in behaviours that challenge and/or mental health problems.
* Has developed an advanced level of expertise in at least one area of clinical practice (e.g. Challenging Behaviour, Forensic issues, Personality Disorder) relevant to Learning Disabilities.
* Experience of working in and supervising a multi-agency/disciplinary team.
* Research experience and statistical expertise.
* Supervision of Clinical Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists, and other professional colleagues.
Knowledge and Understanding
* Demonstrates advanced level of clinical knowledge in relation to working with people who engage in behaviours that challenge and/or have mental health problems.
* Advanced level of clinical knowledge in relation to Positive Behavioural Support.
* Knowledge of trauma informed care frameworks and their application in supported living settings.
* Detailed knowledge of strategic direction and documents relevant to services for people with a Learning Disability and mental health diagnosis.
* To be aware of race and cultural issues in professional practice.
* Awareness of the social determinants of mental health, and how to align service to prevent further impact if these.
* Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology.
* Is familiar with current legislation on Learning Disability and is aware of developments in it.
* Has a thorough knowledge of the Professional Issues affecting Psychological services in health and social care settings.
* Has kept up-to-date on current clinical practice in Learning Disability/ mental health services.
* Published research in peer reviewed or academic professional journals and/or books regarding some aspect of service provision for people with a learning disability who engage in behaviours that challenge and/or have mental health problems.

£78,120 to £90,013 a year Salary is Pro Rata
