Section Engineer – Civil Engineering (Highways, Didcot, Oxfordshire)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a major Highways development project in Oxfordshire. This is a permanent opportunity offering excellent benefits and career progression. The role involves managing site engineers, supporting the Site Agent, and ensuring technical, quality, safety, and programme compliance across the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and mentor Site Engineers, ensuring accurate setting out and compliance.
* Provide technical support, liaising with Site Agent, Project Manager, and stakeholders.
* Prepare and review work package plans, budgets, and cost estimates.
* Maintain site documentation, records, and contractual reporting.
* Monitor health & safety, quality, and environmental standards (IMS compliance).
* Lead site meetings, daily briefings, and progress reporting.
* Liaise with authorities, regulatory bodies, and commercial teams.
* Promote a strong safety culture and collaborative site environment.
Requirements
* HNC or higher in Civil Engineering.
* Demonstrated experience as a Section Engineer (highways/civil projects desirable).
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and proficiency in site documentation.
* SMSTS & First Aid certification; good understanding of H&S / CDM legislation.
* Autocad, CPCS Appointed Person, and Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable).
