2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE
We are currently seeking 1 x experienced Class 1 Shunter for our client in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. The position is 4 on 4 off 17:00 starts and will be starting from 3rd December onwards. These are guaranteed shifts ongoing with our customer.
PAYE rates for the role of HGV Class 1 driver are as follows:
Days: £ Per Hour (04:00 - 17:59)
Nights £ Per Hour (18:00 - 03:59)
6th Shift Days £ Per Hour
6th Shift Nights £ Per Hour
There is a 45 minute break deduction and the 6th shift worked is paid at time and a half.
Your Time at Work
As an HGV Class 1 Shunter, you will be responsible for all aspects of safe and efficient movement and positioning of vehicles within a controlled site environment.
Responsibilities to include but are not limited to;
- Safely moving HGVs/trailers around the yard or site.
- Positioning trailers for loading/unloading.
- Carrying out vehicle checks (pre-use and defect reporting).
- Coordinating with warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth trailer flow.
- Following site safety procedures and traffic management rules.
Our Perfect Worker
As an experienced HGV1 Shunter, you will ideally have -
- 2 years C+E experience
- Shunting experience desired
- No more than 6 points
- Digi card and DCPC
