Position Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated, articulate, customer-focused inside sales professional eager to grow their career with the largest independent electrical distributor in New England. The Inside Salesperson is often the first impression and introduction to the customer experience, with the goal of creating lasting customer relationships. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of electrical applications and layout, Square D products, Eclipse software, and EPEC Certification.
Essential Functions
* Work with your account base to grow incrementally and develop new accounts.
* Create and execute a growth plan with the Branch Manager, demonstrating excellent sales and service skills.
* Coordinate with counter contractor sales, outside sales, and management regarding orders, customer status, history, changes, quotations, strategies, and other sales-related information.
* Process customer inquiries, purchase orders, back orders, credits, return authorizations, price increases, and other sales functions promptly.
* Maintain accurate and current customer files, including special orders, quotations, pricing, purchase orders, vendor information, and sales documentation.
* Maximize sales and profitability by understanding the market and competition, negotiating vendor costs, and setting competitive prices.
* Participate in training sessions, seminars, and meetings to enhance GCE’s market position.
Education and Experience
* High School diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational experience preferred.
* Previous sales experience required.
* Experience in electrical distribution and industry exposure is preferred.
Position Requirements

* Strong negotiation and selling skills, including cross/up-selling.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Good math and computer skills; Eclipse software experience is a plus.

* Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
* Dependability and punctuality.
* Flexibility and teamwork orientation.
* Work with urgency and a proactive attitude.
Compensation
* Hourly rate based on experience.
* Commission plan based on monthly gross profit.
