What you’ll do
As the Configuration Control Engineer, you’ll be key in creating customer order and reception functions for the Specialist Service team and will be assisting with integrating new services onto the network. The role holder is to ensure that the security and integrity of the service is maintained in line with the SLA’s. In addition you will be responsible for ensuring all hardware, Operating Systems and application software configurations are maintained in accordance with the technical design for the Service and the manufactures instruction to minimise potential vulnerabilities. Other responsibilities include:
1. Developing a record of your configuration baseline and identifying what you have now and how each CIs interacts with others
2. All configuration adjustments need to be recorded so that you know the status of the CIs that support your services
3. Deal effectively /efficiently with queries from customers.
4. Undertake team maintenance and fault work in accordance with customer service level agreements.

5. Understanding of IP voice Networks and networking (Cisco)- Essential
6. Awareness on how change management and configuration management interact- Essential
7. Understanding of IP networking, switching and routing in a telecom’s provider environment – Essential
8. Data management and analytics skills- Essential
9. Have a clear and analytical approach to problem management.
10. Have a good understanding of ITIL working practices
